Incubators - Protective CO2 – Atmosphere

  • chamber volume: 48, 150 and 170 liters
  • working temperature: 1 °C above ambient temperature up to 50 °C
  • measuring with CO2- infrared sensor
  • stabile humidity 95 % or 97% RH
  • wide range of variants and accessories
  • interface for printer or PC-communication

The series CO2CELL, formerly called CYTOCELL, is suitable for research and growth of cell and other cultures and it is also frequently used in the sphere o IVF. The unique system of the chamber and door heating eliminates the need of fan and thereby the contamination risk for samples caused by vibrations and forced circulation of the atmosphere. The series CO2CELL allows the operation both in the CO2 atmosphere and with O2 and N2.

The operation of the CO2CELL incubators is based on the smooth gravitational flow of the operation gas in the electrically heated chamber with high relative humidity and selected gas concentration. The units’ operation is noiseless.
As a standard the protective CO2 atmosphere is used, according to customer’s wishes also O2 or N2 can be applied. The CO2 concentration in the chamber is detected by means of an infrared sensor with the automatic calibration cycle.
The units are provided with a standard (with LED display) or comfort (with graphical LCD display) microprocessor control unit.

CO2CELL 48

·         laboratory incubator with protective atmosphere
·
natural air circulation
·
inner galss door
·
noiseless operation
·
wide range of variants and accessories

Basic technical data
- chamber volume: 48 litres
- working temperature: from +1 °C above ambient temperature up to 50 °C
- uncontrolled relative humidity: max. up to 95 % (or 98 %) RH, at 37 °C
- microprocessor control of the process
- CO2 concentration: from 0.2 to 10 %
- CO2 detection by means of an infrared sensor with automatic calibration cycle
- inner glass door (three- or six-part according to customer’s wishes)
- interface for printer or PC-communication (on request)

Basic design components:

The unit’s chamber and door are provided with a unique temperature control system that heats every chamber wall separately. The specially located heating bodies create the spiral air circulation inside the chamber. Thereby the very stable and homogenous temperature profile without temperature jumps is guaranteed. That is why the unit’s operation does not require a fan. In this way the risk of contamination for samples is completely eliminated. Due to the on-line watching of all important parameters, e.g. temperature and CO2 concentration, the new control system secures very short recovery times after door opening. By eliminating the need of fan there are no vibrations inside the chamber, which is very important for the first-quality cultivation of cell cultures. The rounded edges of the stainless steel chamber and the system of shelves removable without use of any tool make cleaning easier and more effective. The CO2CELL 48 units provide an excellent ratio of inside volume-external dimensions. They can be placed both on a smaller laboratory desk and on an office table. Despite their original and distinctive design they can be stacked using a reduction element.
The use of the infrared sensor for the CO2 detection means involvement of the latest technology in this branch. This sensor is independent on the relative humidity and has a considerably shorter recovery time than other technologies.
The uncontrolled homogenous relative humidity of 95 % in the chamber prevents the drying-up of samples. The unit is also provided with a unique design that prevents condensation at another than at the specified place of the chamber and thus eliminates the undesirable contamination.

Product Series Description

The new series of CO2CELL incubators with a chamber volume of 48 liters, temperature range from +1 °C above ambient temperature up to 50.0 °C and a precise control of temperature and CO2 concentration, is suitable for first-quality and safe processing of microbiological samples in the sphere of medicine (IVF) and scientific laboratories.

The series of CO2CELL 48 is characterized by unique system of the chamber and door heating that eliminates the need of fan, secures the homogenous air distribution within the chamber and maximum relative humidity with absolute dry walls. The series of CO2CELL provides high operation comfort, precise regulation and very short times of temperature and CO2 concentration recovery after door opening.

The units can be provided with the control unit ”standard” or ”comfort”.

The CO2CELL 48 incubators meet the requirements of the subject inland and foreign standards,
e.g. EN 61010-1, EN 50081-1, EN 50082-1 and other harmonized standards.
