Patient Data Image and Video Manager System

This software for digital storage of stroboscopic movies and still images is designed by MediTop in cooperation with Sioux Medical Systems.

Increasingly more hospitals want to process their data digitally. Above all, they want their hospital systems to communicate with each other. A so-called Electronic Patient Record, in which all information from one patient is grouped and is accessible from everywhere, seems to be the solution. In reality, a large number of diagnostic systems are not ready for digital connection ...

MediTop offers hospitals and doctors a total solution with:

  • The Image / Video Manager that makes it possible to store both still and video images in an archive.
  • The HL7 Gateway and DICOM Gateway that provide the connection with the Electronic Patient Record for exchange of patient data.

One of the mentioned extras of the Image / Video Manager are the gateways that provide the connection to the Electronic Patient Record. Systems relevant to the Electronic Patient Record are the Hospital Information System (HIS) allowing storage of all kinds of patient information, and the Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) that archives the images. In order to exchange data with these systems there are two accepted standards within the medical world. Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) for processing the image data and Health Care Industry Level 7 (HL7) for the exchange of patient data.

Key points are:

  • The simple "handsfree" operation via a foot pedal.
  • The possibility to make images with a stroboscope, video camera or any other sources connected to the application.
  • Frame by frame viewing, and snapshots selection from the video stream.
  • The possibility to view images from the patient history next to current images on the same screen to allow the healing process to be reviewed.
  • The possibility to export images for use in informative or educational presentations.
  • The Electronic Patient Dossier can be supported via a HL7 and/or DICOM Gateway.

HL7 Gateway:

  • Patient data can be easily retrieved from the HIS by entering a patient number or via a search request.
  • By storing the data centrally in the Electronic Patient Dossier every doctor has access to the most up-to-date information on each patient.

 DICOM Gateway:

  • Adding extra patient or medical information to the produced images can be done from the involved Electronic Patient Dossier applications.
  • Patient data such as series of images can easily be exchanged.

More efficient use when integrated in any MediTop treatment system.

The video camera system when removed from its holder will automatically switch the system to live video allowing freeze frame image.

Another feature is to built in and integrate the  MediTop continuous light stroboscope in the treatment system.
